Safety Guidelines
GroceryShare is built on trust. These simple guidelines help keep everyone safe and the app effective.
Meeting Neighbors
- Always meet in public places. If you choose to continue with a GroceryShare partner, continue to meet in public until you know they are safe.
- Let someone know where you’re going.
- Trust your instincts — it’s okay to cancel.
Sharing Trips
- Confirm the sharing details before meeting.
- Be clear about payment expectations upfront.
- Only share with people you feel comfortable with.
Payments
- Settle payments at the time you split the groceries.
- Use trusted payment methods.
- Never send money in advance to someone you don’t know.
Reporting Concerns
- Report suspicious behavior to GroceryShare support immediately.
- Block any user who makes you uncomfortable.
- If you feel unsafe when you meet to split groceries, walk away, go into the store, or flag someone down. If you feel in danger, call the authorities.
Remember, GroceryShare is a community tool, not a commercial service. We are neighbors helping neighbors, but our safety is most important.
